"Lift and Learn" - smartphone advice with vision
Gondola course on the Katrin
"Senior Connect" school project opens up new horizons for senior citizens
The students of the Bad Ischl Commercial Academy (HAK) have launched a remarkable initiative with their Senior Connect project. Their goal: to bridge the digital divide between the generations. Since December 4, 2024, the dedicated young people have been offering practical cell phone courses for senior citizens - with great success.
The consistently positive response and high demand have inspired class 3AK to take their project to a new level: On May 15, 2025, a very special event will take place - the gondola course up the Katrin: "Lift and Learn".
"Lift and Learn" - smartphone advice with vision
In cooperation with the Katrincable car , the students invite senior citizens to an extraordinary learning experience. During the gondola ride up the Katrin , the young experts are on hand with help and advice. Questions about smartphones and digital media are answered in a relaxed atmosphere - with a breathtaking view of the mountains as a backdrop.
Once at the top, participants can look forward to a delicious meal, which rounds off the successful mix of knowledge transfer and nature experience. Participation is free of charge and promises an informative and unforgettable day.
Shaping the digital future together
With Senior Connect, the students of HAK Bad Ischl are sending a strong signal for intergenerational cohesion. This project impressively demonstrates how young people can use their commitment and creativity to help make the digital world more accessible to older generations.
