CONDITIONS OF CARRIAGE FOR
THE 4 EUB KATRIN cable car
The conditions of carriage are an integral part of the contract of carriage.
They apply to the carriage of persons and property and to conduct in the railway area. Fulfillment of the transport contract and thus the validity of these transport conditions begins when the passenger reaches and ends when the passenger leaves the parts of the installation dedicated to cableway operation.
By purchasing the ticket, the passenger accepts the following provisions and undertakes to comply with them.
Violation of the conditions of carriage may also result in liability.
The cableway company is obliged to provide transport in accordance with the timetable,
a) if the applicable legal regulations and transport conditions as well as the instructions issued by the cableway company in the interests of safety and order are complied with and
b) if transport is not prevented by circumstances which the cableway company is unable to prevent or remedy.Drunk persons and persons who do not comply with the provisions of these Conditions of Carriage or the additional instructions of the cablecar company to ensure safety and order, or who are obviously unable to do so due to their particular physical or mental condition, are excluded from carriage.
Passengers must have a valid ticket. This is in principle not transferable. The period of validity of the ticket is stated on the ticket or in the tariff.
The ticket must be presented for inspection or validation on request.
If the ticket is in a condition in which its validity can no longer be determined, a new ticket must be purchased.A passenger who is found without a valid ticket after the start of the journey must pay the additional fare specified in the tariff regulations in addition to the fare payable for the journey, without prejudice to any criminal prosecution. The start of the journey is deemed to be the entry into and exit from the control zone (turnstile).
In the event of attempted or actual misuse of a ticket, the ticket will be confiscated without compensation, without prejudice to any criminal prosecution, and the additional transport charge specified in the tariff regulations will be levied.
If the passenger refuses to pay the fare or the additional transport fee immediately, the employees of the cablecar company are entitled to demand identification from the passenger and to exclude her/him from the ride.
No replacement will be provided for lost tickets.
If carriage is not provided for reasons for which the cablecar company is responsible or in accordance with point 5 b), the fare will be refunded in full for single tickets and in part otherwise.
The extent of the refund is determined by the tariff.If the transport is not carried out for reasons for which the passenger is responsible, there is no entitlement to reimbursement of the fare.
The following applies to the behaviour of passengers before, during and after transport:
a) Passengers must behave in such a way that the safety of the cablecar operation and the passengers is not endangered and that order and the operational process are not disturbed.
b) Passengers may only enter the cableway installations and rooms in the stations that are open to the general public or passengers for the intended purpose.
c) Boarding and alighting shall be permitted only at the places designated for this purpose.
d) Jumping, swinging and smoking are prohibited during the ride.
e) If the cable car is stopped during the ride, passengers must remain quiet and wait for the instructions of the cable car attendants.
f) It is forbidden to hold out or throw objects during the ride.
g) At the end of the ride, passengers must leave the disembarkation area quickly in the direction indicated.
h) The prohibitions, orders and instructions for passengers on the cable car, which are usually indicated by symbolic signs, must be strictly observed.The following applies to the carriage of children
a) Children with a body height of less than 1.10 m may only be carried if accompanied by a suitable person.
b) An accompanying person is considered suitable in particular if he or she is considered an adult in accordance with the provisions of the tariff and appears to be capable of providing any assistance that may be required.Passengers may carry easily portable, non-bulky items up to a total weight of 10 kg, subject to the space available on the vehicle.
Persons who damage or contaminate the cablecar's facilities, operating equipment or other equipment must pay the repair or cleaning costs. Deliberate damage will also be reported to the police.
Animals are permitted for carriage if carriage is not expected to be detrimental to safe operation, the owner keeps the animal safe during carriage and any passengers travelling with the animal do not raise any objections.
Goods or luggage will only be accepted by separate agreement.
Attention - mountain biking and paragliding are prohibited in the entire area of Katrin due to nature conservation regulations. The wildlife rest areas and the unique habitat must not be influenced or disturbed by these activities.
