1959 - Opening ceremony of the Katrin cable car
The opening and church consecration of the new orbit to the Katrin was attended by all the VIPs of Upper Austria. The guests were welcomed in the entrance hall by the Salinenmusikkapelle.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Gatscha, Section Councillor, the representative of the Minister of Transport, Dipl.-Ing. Waldbrunner, Governor Dr. Gleißner, Abbot Kolomann Holzinger of Admont Abbey, Deputy Governor Ludwig Beraschek, the Provincial Councillors Plasser and Kletzmayr, President of the Provincial Parliament Matthias Hödlmoser, the National Councillors Josef Mittendorfer and Karl Spielbüchler, the mayors of the neighbouring communities, Dir. Louis Franz, the representatives of the construction companies involved and about 200 guests were warmly welcomed by Mayor Franz Müllegger.
The church consecration of the valley station and the cable car was performed by Abbot Kolomann Holzinger.
Assisted by the city priest Franz Mayr, the abbot said a prayer of blessing for God's protection for the users of the cable car . After the official opening by Section Councillor Dr. Gatscha, the prominent guests drove to the mountain station and inspected the existing facilities there.
